Amarillo, TX
Amarillo is the fourteenth most populous city in the state of Texas. The Amarillo voters have had the foresight to pass a .25 percent city tax which is used exclusively to fund industrial recruiting efforts. This measure along wiefforts by Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, the City of Amarillo and other entities were major reasons that Bell Helicopter Textron selected Amarillo as the site for its Tiltrotor Assembly Center. The Texas Panhandle, to which Amarillo is considered the regional economic center, is the cattle feeding capital of the world, producing more than five million fed cattle a year, or 30 percent of the nation’s supply.
