Dothan, AL
Dothan serves as the main transportation and commercial hub for a significant part of southeastern Alabama, southwest Georgia, and nearby portions of the Florida Panhandle. There is approximately one-fourth of the U.S. peanut crop produced nearby, with much of it being processed in the city. Dothan also hosts the annual National Peanut Festival at the dedicated “Peanut Festival Fairgrounds.”
Agriculture is their largest industry, though the top employers are Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Dothan City & Houston County Schools, and Flowers Hospital. Notable attractions in Dothan include the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens which includes 50 acres of cultivated gardens, Highland Oaks Golf Course, and the US Army Aviation Museum which houses one of the largest helicopter collections in the world.
